Love,Rosie movie review
This is the movie from the book: “Where Rainbows End” by Cecelia Ahern.
Director: Ditter Christian
Genre: Romantic-Comedy
Year: 2014
Actors: Lily Collins, Sam Claflin
Length: 102 min
Age: 15/16 +
Plot:
Alex and Rosie are best friends since they were 5, they have always been there for each other and they planned since childhood to move together and to study in the same city. Rosie dreams to study Hotel management, Alex dreams to attend courses to become a heart surgeon. Everything is planned, Alex and Rosie are ready to move to Boston but on the school prom something happens messing up Rosie’s plans…she’s no longer going moving with Alex to Boston but he does. Will their friendship survive the distance, the years and the people who seem to do anything possible to keep them apart?
Good aspects:
The movie is really funny, all the misadventures that happen to the main characters make the viewer laugh a lot.
I found the choice of music really appropriate and it really helped the laugh during the movie
It is a movie which is not so “heavy” and that can be easily watched on a relax afternoon or on a night with friends.
The plot line is catchy and can be easily followed, the viewers really feel involved especially in Rose’s life.
Bad aspects:
The story doesn’t stick much to the book, most of Rosie’s life is changed and the time laps of the story is much shorter.
Some topics that are present in the story are not suitable for a young public .
My Comment:
I really enjoyed the movie and I found it really funny, I think that it is perfect movie for a night with friends. Lily Collins portrayed perfectly Rosie and she was just like I imagined her from the book. Regarding Sam Claflin there is nothing I can really say about him, he is just…flawless!
Overall Critic:
3 out of 5
