Biggest differences from book to on screen movie adaptation according to the web
1.Jumping off the train isn’t just that easy
In the book Tris isn’t actually the first one to jump…the first one ends up smashed on the pavement below. Then Tris jumps.
2. Peter is not such a nice guy
In the book Peter is a vicious villain that could do anything to be part of the Dauntless faction and to affirm his supremacy on others including STABBING ON PERSON’S EYE WITH A BUTTERKNIFE to keep his name in the rankings. In the movie, he is still despicable, but he has humor and an attitude that makes him a more complicated villain.
3. Four’s age
In the book he is 18, in the movie Theo James was 28 but the producers made him look like a 24 year old.
4. Tris’ fears
Tris in the book has 7 fears in her landscape, in the movie she has 5.
5. Where’s Uriah?
In the books he has quite of an important role but in the movie we don’t see him…hopefully he will appear in Insurgent.
6. What about Christina’s and Will’s love story?
In the book it plays a big role especially when Tris feels guilty of killing Will creating a high tension between her and her best friend.
7. Violence
In the movie there is way less violence than the book. This was done to allow also minors to see the movie.
